Description
What is tested by the Microbiome Mapping stool test?
The Complete Microbiome Stool Test quantitively assesses the gut microbiome with attention to bacterial, parasitic, and viral pathogens that contribute to GI concerns. Also looks at gastrointestinal markers (calprotectin, pancreatic elastase, secretory IgA, Zonulin (leaky gut), B-Glucuronidase. Viruses included: Adenovirus 40/41, Norovirus GI/II, Cytomegalovirus, Epstein Barr Virus, Helicobacter Pylori. Ratio provided for Firmicutes to Bacteriodetes.
Where is it tested?
Analysed in Australia with a team of highly trained clinical and technical staff. Enrolled in internal and external Quality Assurance Programmes (RCPA-QAP).
Why this test over other Microbiome screening tests available?
PCR amplifies gene targets and can generate thousands of millions of copies of a single target DNA sequence. The method is sensitive and specific which does not rely on culture-based methods.
